Tripo combines image generation and 3D modelling

Tripo has integrated the GPT-Image-2.5 Sunburst image model into Tripo Studio. The aim is to prepare concept images more effectively for three-dimensional modelling.

Users can generate or upload an image, refine its details and produce several viewing angles before creating a 3D model. The tools include character isolation, conversion into a T-pose and completion of missing parts.

Prepared images can also be converted into 3D models in batches. The workflow could make it easier to prototype props and character variations for game worlds.

Tripo also presents topology editing, rigging and animation as downstream tools. The practical usability of the final models still needs to be checked separately.
