TIME names Deezer's AI music detector among the year's best inventions
Deezer's AI Music Detection technology has been recognized in TIME's annual list.

TIME has included Deezer's AI music detection technology on its list of the best inventions of 2026. Deezer announced the recognition in a press release on October 15.
According to Deezer, approximately 90,000 entirely AI-generated tracks are submitted to its platform every day. The company says it identified and removed more than 42 million AI tracks from its algorithmic and editorial recommendations between January 2025 and August 2026.
The company aims to reduce manipulation of listening figures using AI music. However, it says fully AI-generated music accounts for only around 1–3 percent of all streams on its service.
Detection technology can support transparency, but the possibility of incorrect classifications must also be considered. The detection figures in this report are Deezer's own claims.
